NEW YORK, NY - Hunter College Graduate student Megan McKenna scored 18 points to guide the women's basketball team to a 90-35 victory over Medgar Evers College and became just the 10th member in program history to score 1,000 points at the Sportsplex this evening.

Hunter improves to 5-10 and 4-1 in the CUNYAC while Medgar Evers drops to 2-14 and 0-5 in conference action.

In all, every Hawk scored at least a bucket in today's contest with McKenna and Kristen Markoe leading the squad with 18 points each while Nicole Lenard finished with 14 to round out the double-digit scorers. Markoe also finished with a game-high 12 assists and eight steals.

The Hawks dominated all game, opening the half on a 15-0 run across the first four minutes. The Hawks controlled possession for the duration of the stanza and sparked an 18-7 run in the final 5 minutes to take a 55-19 lead into the locker room.

Hunter finished the night shooting 50% and went 40% from three-point range and 66% from the charity stripe. The Hawks forced 34 Cougar turnovers and stole the ball 20 times en route to holding the Cougars to just 21% shooting.

Hunter returns to action this Saturday, January 21 when they travel to NYU-Polytech for a 2pm matchup.
