NEW YORK, NY - On Saturday, October 13th the men's soccer team played host to the Beavers of CCNY. Although the Hawks controlled the ball for most of the game, the Beavers were able to score in the 5th minute of overtime to get the win. With the loss, the Hawks drop to 2-11-2, 2-5-2 CUNYAC while the Beavers improve to 6-6-2, 4-1-1 CUNYAC.
Both teams missed on scoring opportunties in regulation time, with senior
Darwin Gramajo having a shot on goal as well as freshman
Ahmadullah Mayan.
In the 5th minute of overtime, CCNY's Samuel Nkama passed to Kazuhide Kosugi who play a cross into Matthew Mbamelu who headed the ball in the Hawks net, giving his team their 4th CUNY win.
The Hawks were outshot 10-8, with 2 corner kicks and 4 saves by keeper Emmaunel Aprilakis.
The Hawks are back in action on Monday, October 15th when they travel to New Paltz, NY to take on the Hawks of SUNY New Paltz. The game is set for a 3:30pm start.
