Soccer Ends Season with a 2-0 Loss to Brooklyn in Quarterfinals of CUNY Championship

Men's Soccer looses in first round of CUNYAC/Applee's Soccer Championship.

BROOKYLN, NY - The #7 seeded men's soccer team saw it's season come to an early end yesterday as they lost 2-0 to the #2 seed Bulldogs of Brooklyn College.  With the loss, the Hawks finish their season with a record of 2-14-2, 2-4-2 CUNYAC. 

After what seemed like a strong start in the first half, the Hawks let up a goal at minute 32 to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.  Hunter then let up a second goal a few minutes later at minute 35 when Brooklyn's Dimitry Prokofyev played a cross from Dedou Toure and got past keeper Senior Zade Haobsh.

The second half was played with intensity by both teams, but the score remaind a 2-0 when it ended.

Haobsh tallied 7 saves for the day while junior Diego Mercado and sophomore Michael Ziegler each had a shot on goal.  The Hawks were outshot 21-10 and had 3 corner kicks.

Brooklyn now advances to the semi-finals of the CUNYAC Tournament where they play the Beavers of CCNY on Saturday, October 27th.
