Women's Basketball Grabs First Win Over Lehman

NEW YORK, NY – On Tuesday, November 20th the Hawks played host to the Lightning of Lehman in their first conference match-up of the season.  The women dominated, topping Lehman 57-41 to get their first victory of the season.  With the win, the Hawks improve to 1-2, 1-0 CUNYAC while Lehman drops to 0-3, 0-1 CUNYAC.

The game was scoreless until Lehman got on the board in the 16th minute with a layup.  Hunter then kicked it into gear as junior Kristen Sells scored ten points and was able to get her team a nine point lead going into half time, 26-17.

In the second half, the Lightning were no match for the Hawks as they had at least a 13 point led the entire half.

The Hawks were led by Sells, who scored 16 points and went 6-11 on the floor.  Sophomore Dimitra Thomopoulos chipped in 11 points and had 5 offensive and 9 defensive rebounds.

The Hawks are back in action on Tuesday, November 27th when they play host to the Bearcats of Baruch.
