Women's Basketball Downed by Bearcats

Hawks fall victims to the CUNYAC undefeated Baruch College

New York, NY - The women's basketball team played away last night in a CUNYAC match-up against the Bearcats of Baruch.  The Bearcats dominated the court, grabbing the victory 58-41.  With the loss, the Hawks drop to 5-12, 4-5 CUNYAC while the Bearcats improve to 16-1, 9-0 CUNYAC.

Despite the Hawks tallying the first six points of the first half, the Bearcats scored 34 of the next 41 points to get a 34-13 advantage at halftime. 

The Bearcats outstanding lead would grow to 27 points (49-22) with 9:56 remaining, helping that to an unblemished CUNYAC record.

The Hawks were led by junior standout Nicole Lenard, who netted 16 points and three rebounds in the loss.  Sophomore Dimitri Krissi Thompolous chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds while freshman Ayanna Hudson led in rebounds with 11.

The Hawks are back in action on Friday, January 25th when they travel up to the Bronx to take on the Lightning of Lehman College.
