Brooklyn, N.Y. - The women's basketball team traveled to Medgar Evers this past Monday night to take on the Cougars for the second time this year. Once again the Hawks dominated the Cougars by 46 points, 78-32. With the win, the Hawks improve to 7-12, 6-5 CUNYAC while Medgar drops to 0-20, 0-11 CUNYAC.
The Hawks were lead by Dimitra Krissi Thompolous who netted 19 points and four rebounds while
Nicole Lenard added 15 points and four boards. Kristen Sells and Melina Seide scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Ayanna Hudson had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. The Cougars were led by Nia Tompkins, who scored a game-high of 20 points.
The only time when the Hawks were behind was in the first minute of the game when the Cougars were up by two. But a good layup by Lenard followed by a good free-throw, the women took the lead and never looked back as they would be up by an outstanding 31 points going into the second half.
The Hawks greatest lead of the night was with 20 seconds left in regulation with a good layup by
Joey Chan, giving Hunter a 49 point lead.
The women are back in action on Wednesday, January 30th when they host the Bloodhounds of John Jay. Tip off is set for a 5pm start.
