BOX SCORE

NEW YORK, NY – On Friday, January 4th the women's basketball team played host to the Beavers of CCNY in a conference game.  After a late surge in the second half by CCNY, the Hawks were able to stave off their opponents, getting the win with a score of 57-53.  The Hawks now improve to 3-8, 3-2 CUNYAC while the Beavers drop to 1-9, 1-4 CUNYAC.

Hunter had an early led, as they went up by as much as 19 points in the first half giving themselves a comfortable 11 point led at half-time.  After a late rally led by CCNY's Syreeta Williams scoring 15 points alone in the second half cut Hunter's lead to only one with 1:36 left in regulation.  But a good layup by sophomore Dimitra Krissi Thompoulos and a good foul throw by junior Nicole Lenard in the last minute, the Hawks were able to come away with the victory by four.

The Hawks were led by Lenard, who netted a team high of 16 points, along with two rebounds going 5-16 from the floor.  Freshman standout Ayanna Hudson had a game high of 16 rebounds while adding 10 points.
Junior Kristen Sells scored 11 points with five rebounds while Thomopoulos chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds.
