Women's Basketball Falls to Lehman

Bronx, N.Y – The women's basketball team dropped a tough 74-57 decision to the Lightning of Lehman College on Wednesday, November 4th. With the loss, the Hawks drop to 2-6, 0-2 CUNYAC while the Lightning improve to 4-2, 2-0 CUNYAC.

The Hawks were led by Nicole Lenard who scored a team high of 28 points, while adding four assists and four rebounds.  Dimitra Krissi Thomopoulos chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds while Ayanna Hudson snagged a game-high of 17 rebounds.

The first half proved to be a back and forth affair until the Lightning went on a 20-8 run with 9:47 left in the first half.  The Hawks bounced back and went on a 10-0 of their own to get the score to 18-20, but Lehman scored 15 out of the last 21 points of the rest of the half to give themselves a 35-24 lead going into half time.

The Hawks were able to pull within ten points in the second half, but strong Lehman led by 21 with less than two minutes remaining in regulation.

The Hawks are back in action on Friday, December 6th when they play Mt. St. Mary at Homecoming.
