Women's Basketball Back on Track with Win over MSMC

New York, N.Y. - The Hunter Hawks snapped their four game losing streak by defeating Mount St. Mary's College 77-62 Friday night at the Hunter College Sportsplex.      
     
The Hawks (3-6) had four players score in double-digits, led by senior Nicole Lenard's game-high 25 points. The Maspeth native also dished out eight assists while playing 38 minutes. Kristen Markoe chipped in with 14 points and 11 rebounds, her third double-double of the season. Joey Chan and Krissi Thomopoulos each had 10 points. Ayanna Hudson grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds, her sixth game of the season with double digit rebounds.

The Knights (0-7) had a very balanced scoring attack led by Lauren Romao's 15 points. Rachel Perrone and Natalie Candarelli each scored 14 and Jessica Perrone scored 12.

 After taking an 8-6 lead with 16:43 left in the first half, the Hawks never trailed throughout the rest of the game and led the game by as much as 17 points in the 2nd half.

 The Hawks return to action Tuesday December 10th when they take on CUNY rival Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn. Tip-off is 6:00pm.
