Hawks Fall to Elizabethtown at 2013 NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament

Williamstown, Mass.-- Hunter's (13-9) women's tennis team faced a tough 5-0 defeat against Elizabethtown (17-3) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Tournament on Friday, May 10th
 
Hunter, the 2012 CUNYAC Tournament Champions, dropped all three matches in doubles competition. Hunter's third doubles duo of Caroline Kaleda and Beth Chapnick lost 8-0, and then Stephanie Ahwireng and Angelina Usherenko went down 8-2 at the second spot. In the first doubles action, Jane Selegean and Shena Joseph battled their opponents to a great match, but fell in the end 9-7.
 
Elizabethtown capped the victory with wins at fifth and third singles action. Both Carolina Kaleda and Stephanie Ahwireng were beaten 6-0, 6-0 as the Hawks were eliminated from the 2013 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Tournament.
 
With the loss, the Hawks conclude their season.
