Roadrunners Outlast Hawks in Overtime

New York, N.Y. - The Hunter Hawks women's basketball team lost 88-75 in OT to the Ramapo College Roadrunners on Monday night at the Hunter Sportsplex.

The Hawks (6-9, 3-3) were led by a balanced scoring attack with all five starters notching double figures in points. Nicole Lenard had a game-high 24 points. She also had seven assists and five rebounds. Kristin Sells tallied 15 points, Krissi Thomopoulos had 11 points and Joey Chan had 10. Kristen Markoe notched her 3rd straight double-double with 10 points and 17 rebounds.

Jackie Jerkovich paced the Roadrunners (7-6) with 22 points and Micaela Moore tallied 20 points and 10 rebounds.
The Hawks led by 35-25 at halftime and maintained a lead throughout the 2nd half until the Roadrunners tied the game at 51 with 8:56 to go. Lenard led a Hawks run to regain an eight point lead with 3:16 remaining.

The Roadrunners closed regulation on a 10-2 to tie the game at 68 and force overtime. In overtime they outscored the Hawks 20-7 to secure the victory.

The Hawks return to action Wednesday, January 15th when they travel to Brooklyn to take on CUNY rival Brooklyn College. Tip-off is 5pm.
