New York, N.Y. - The Hunter Hawks women's basketball team won their 2^nd game in a row by defeating Lehman College 73-60 on a historic Friday night at the Hunter Sportsplex.

With her 1^st basket nearly 5 minutes into the game, junior Kristen Markoe joined the 1,000 point club and was honored with a commutative game ball. Markoe finished the game with 19 points and a game-high 17 rebounds, her 8^th of the season.

Nicole Lenard led the Hawks with a game-high 22 points and Krissi Thomopoulos notched her 3^rd straight double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

The Hawks (8-11, 5-5 CUNYAC) led 34-31 at halftime but the Lightning came out on fire in the 2^nd half going on a 22-4 run to pull ahead 53-38 with 14:00 left in the game. From that point forward the Hawks stepped it up offensively and defensively outscoring the Lightning 35-7 in the final 14 minutes of play.

The Lightning (12-7, 6-4) was Shalaya Nieves's 13 points. Amely Del Rosario and Jennifer Navarro each had 12 points.

The Hawks return to action Wednesday January 29^th when they travel to John Jay to take on the Bloodhounds. Game-time is 5pm.
