BOX SCORE BROOKLYN, NY -,The Hunter Men's soccer team lost 2-0 in the CUNYAC Semifinals on Saturday night to Brooklyn College, bringing to end the 2014 Hawks season. The team finish the year with a 4-12-1 record and 3-4-1 record in CUNYAC play.
The Hawks were unable to counter the Brooklyn offensive pressure, the Bulldogs controlled possession in the first half barely allowing the Hawks have possession of the ball in their offensive end. In the midfield Fausto Perez trying to send passes over the top of the Bulldog defense to find forward and 2nd Team All-Star Brandon Fiscina but the Brooklyn defense was very aggressive in winning those balls away from the attacking Hawk players. Brooklyn took the lead in the 14th minute on a goal by Gabriel Isaksen. Isaksen was set up wonderfully by Fernand Grisales who crossed the ball behind the Hawks defense to find Isaksen to give Brooklyn a 1-0 lead.,
The Hawks started the second half controlling the first six minutes of play sending multiple players into dangerous areas but the Hawk midfielders were unable to connect with the attacking players or their passes were being blocked by the larger Brooklyn midfielders. Hawks keeper Zachary Metz saved a sure goal in the 53' but the Bulldogs would double the lead to 2-0 in the 61' when Igor Pacca would get one past Metz. In the 69' Kamal Chherti set up a shot beautifully but unfortunately the ball went high over the crossbar leaving the score 2-0, which is where it would end.
The Hawks will say goodbye to seniors Michael Zebzda and Emmanuel Aprilikis and we want to thank them for their commitment and wish them the best of luck.
