BOX SCORE NEW YORK, NY – The Hunter women's basketball team lost 75-50 to CUNYAC rival Baruch College on Friday night. The Hawks fall to 2-6 on the season and 0-2 in CUNYAC play.
The Hawks were led by
Kristen Markoe who notched her eighth consecutive double-double to start the season. The senior tallied 21 points and 11 rebounds.
The Hawks were unable to get anything going on the offensive end in the first half as they fell behind the Bearcats. Defensively they held Baruch to 30% shooting from the field in the first half but Baruch dominated the offensive glass grabbing 11 in the first 20 minutes.
The second half the Hawks turned it around offensively thanks to Markoe who scored 17 of her game-high 21 in the final 20 minutes.
Lucia Stosic was excellent for the Hawks grabbing a career high 10 rebounds.
The Hawks return to action Friday December 12 when they will matchup against CUNYAC foe CCNY. Tip-off is scheduled for 5pm.
