Women's Basketball Dropped by Brooklyn

New York, N.Y. – The Hunter College women's basketball team lost 60-53 to Brooklyn College on Friday night at the Hunter Sportsplex.

The Hawks were led by Nicole Lenard who scored 18 points and dished out eight assists. CUNYAC Player of the Week Kristen Markoe chipped in with nine points and eight rebounds.

The Bulldogs were led by Megan Campbell's game-high 19 points and seven rebounds. Nicole Francomano scored 11 points and handed out seven assists. Zoe Randolph contributed 10 points.

The Bulldogs (16-6, 9-4 CUNYAC) used a strong 2nd half performance to secure the victory. They opened the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half on a 17-4 run to turn a 30-23 halftime deficit into a 40-34 lead.

The Hawks (10-12, 7-6 CUNYAC) would cut the lead to 2 points on a Racquel Baudanza layup with 6:05 to go but would never get any closer.  They were outscored 37-23 in the period.

The Hawks return to action Tuesday February 11th when they travel to Staten Island to take on the CSI Dolphins. Tip-off is 7:30pm.
