Women's Basketball Falls in CUNYAC Championships

New York, N.Y – The women's basketball team fell in the finals of the CUNYAC Championship 70-54 on Friday night to defending champions Baruch College.  This makes it the seventh year in the row the Bearcats have taken the title, and will return to the NCAA Tournament.  

The Hawks played a close first half, with the score being tied three times, and the Hawks taking a two point lead at 5:54 from a good layup from Racquel Baudanza.  At the buzzer Kristen Markoe would hit a good jumper to close Baruch's lead to three.

The Bearcats came out dominating in the second half, going on a 19-5 run to make the score 53-38. Hunter attempted to close the gap, with Markoe scoring 14 out of her 23 points in the second, but the damage had already been done.

Nicole Lenard finished the game with 15 points and two assists, while Baudanza netted eight points.
