BOX SCORE NEW YORK, NY – The Hunter men's soccer team opened up CUNYAC play Wednesday afternoon against John Jay College. The Hawks lost 2-1 to the Bloodhounds, falling to 0-1 in conference play.
The Hawks took a 1-0 lead in the 17' when
Brandon Fiscina netted his 4
th goal of the season on a penalty kick. The team continued to pressure the Bloodhounds the rest of the half testing the opposing keeper with eight shots, six of them forcing the keeper into making a save. The Hawks also had two corner kicks to the Bloodhounds one.
The Bloodhounds would equalize in the 49' when Oscar Barrientos headed home a cross off the foot of Alexis Bustillo. Graysen Carlson would put John Jay up 2-1 in the 80' on a shot that beat the Hawk keeper.
The Hawks played one of their most aggressive games offensively this season taking 15 shots, with nine being on goal.
Fausto Perez led the team with three shots on goal with
Brayan Acevedo and Fiscina putting two each on net. Keeper
Emmanuel Aprilakis stopped nine shots.
The Hawks return to action Saturday when they will take on York College at 1pm.
