BOX SCORE NEW YORK, NY – The Hunter men's soccer team took on York College Saturday afternoon at Randall's Island. The Cardinals scored four 2
nd half goals to defeat the Hawks 4-2.
The Hawks opened the first half very strong and their play was rewarded when
Fausto Perez found
Brandon Fiscina streaking down the center of the field. Fiscina would control the pass and bury his fifth goal of the season to give the Hawks a 1-0. The Hawks nearly scored another goal in the final minutes of the half but Perez's shot hit the crossbar.
The Hawks had one of their most aggressive halves, taking 14 shots and forcing the York keeper into making five saves.
Early in the second half the Cardinals would equalize thanks to a free kick from a dangerous area on the left side of the penalty area. Diron Duah's kick found the foot of Rohan Burrell to make it 1-1. In the 70' Albert Lucas would send a cross in that found Stefano Archangel's foot to make it 2-1. Diron would send another free kick that found the head of Hugens Smith to make it 3-2 Cardinals.
The Hawks would respond in the 83' when Fiscina made a great run with the ball and beat the keeper to score his sixth goal of the season giving the Hawks hope with the score now 3-2.
Just before the final whistle, Rachidi Amadou would score off of a pass from Diron to secure the 4-2 victory for the Cardinals.
The Hawks return to action Wednesday October 1
st when they host Brooklyn College. Game time is scheduled for 3pm.
