BOX SCORE NEW YORK, NY – The Hunter women's basketball team had their three game winning streak snapped on Monday night as #9 New York University defeated the Hawks 70-36 in a non-conference matchup.
The Hawks hung with the Violets early in the first half and were able to pull to within one point, after CUNYAC Player of the Week
Kristen Markoe nailed a three, with 12:55 remaining in the half. The Violets defense pressured the Hawks into 15 turnovers in the first half and entered halftime with a 40-11 lead.
The Hawks offense came to life, thanks to
Joey Chan scoring 11 of her team high 13 points, in the second half.
Ayanna Hudson would finish the game with eight points and 10 rebounds, her eighth game with 10 or more rebounds this season.
The Hawks now sit at 5-9 on the season and they return to CUNYAC play Wednesday night when they will travel to take on Brooklyn College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5pm.
