BOX SCORE NEW YORK, NY – The Hunter women's basketball team won their second consecutive game Tuesday night with a commanding 71-28 victory over CUNYAC foe Medgar Evers College. With the win the Hawks improve to 4-8 on the season and 2-3 in CUNYAC play.
The Hawks dominated the Cougars from the start of the game holding their opponents scoreless for the first 10 minutes of the game. The Hawks were on fire from the field in the first half shooting 59%.
They were led by
Kristen Markoe who scored 16 of her season-high 31 points in the first half leading the Hawks to a 38-18 halftime lead.
The second half started out much like the first half with the Hawks forcing turnovers and continuing to make shots. The team shot 55.8% from the field, their best performance on the season and forced the Cougars into 26 turnovers.
Kerrin Sells chipped in 10 points for the Hawks and
Ashley Yu scored five points while dishing out six assists.
The Hawks return to action Thursday January 8 when they travel to Queens to take on York College. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 6pm.
