New York, NY - The men's soccer team fell to the Beavers of CCNY in a tightly contested 1-0 match on Wednesday night at Randall's Island. A late Beaver goal in the 63rd minute put the Hawks in a hole they were unable to climb out of. With the loss, the Purple and Gold move to 5-7, 2-3 CUNYAC.

Hunter put pressure on their counterparts throughout the first 45 minutes, launching 11 shots and putting six of them on target. However, each of the six were stopped by CCNY keeper Maxwell Berkow. Conversely, of the Beaver's six first half shots, only one made it's way toward Hunter goalkeeper Garrett Babbitt but resulted in a save.

In the second, CCNY was much more efficient with their shot selection. They managed to record seven shots and six of them were on the mark. In the 63rd minute, Luis Castillo found open space in Hunter's zone and found the back of the net after receiving a pass from teammate Kenan Redzematovic. As the Hawks tried to mount a rally, shots from Nico Serna, Kamal Chhetri and Aristofanis Ioannidis were all unsuccessful as the time ran out, closing the game out in favor of the visitors.

Babbitt matched his counterpart as they both recorded six saves a piece. The scoresheet recorded both teams with five corner kicks each.

The Hawks return to action when they host Medgar Evers College in a CUNYAC showdown on Friday, October 9 at 3pm at Randall's Island.
