BOX SCORE BRONX, NY - The Hunter women's basketball team lost 72-61 to Lehman College on Tuesday night, dropping the Hawks record to 9-15 and 6-9 in CUNYAC play.

The Hawks started out the game strong on both ends of the floor but neither team was able to take control of the game in the first 10 minutes of the half.

With the score tied at 12 with just under 12 minutes to play, the Hawks went on a 6-0 over the next five minutes to take an 18-12 lead over the Lightning.

The Hawks were able to hold the lead for the remainder of the half and went into halftime leading 27-22.

The Lightning chipped away at the halftime deficit over the first seven minutes of the second half eventually taking a 45-39 lead with 11:33 left in the game.

The Lightning caught fire from the three point line, hitting 8-of-16 in the final 20 minutes of play.

The Hawks hung in but were unable to overcome the Lightning scoring 50 points in the second half.

Kristen Markoe led the Hawks with 21 points and eight rebounds, while Dimitra Thomopoulos chipped in with 17 points. Kerrin Sells added 10 points for the Hawks.

The Hawks return to action Tuesday February 17 in their regular season finale against York College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5pm.
