BOX SCORE NEW YORK, NY -The Hunter women's basketball team closed out the regular season with a 61-56 victory over York College on Tuesday night. The Hawks finish the regular season with a record of 10-15 and 7-9 record in CUNYAC play.,
The Hawks started off the game tonight jumping out to an 11-0 lead less than four minutes into the game and they were able to maintain and grow the lead throughout much of the first half. The Cardinals began to chip away at the lead cutting 16 point deficit to five with just under four minutes remaining in the half.,
Kerrin Sells would score with 24 seconds left in the half giving the Hawks an eight point lead but a half-court 3-pointer by Tamika Taylor to beat the buzzer, made the score 31-26 Hawks at halftime.,
In the second half the Hawks came out from the break and scored the first six points of the half to get the lead back to double digits. The Cardinals would not go away as they continued to chip away at the Hawks lead cutting the deficit to four points with 13 minutes left in the game.

Joey Chan whom all scored during an 8-0 to get the lead back to 12 points with just under 10 minutes to go.,
With the Hawks leading 52-41 with 9:19 to go, the Cardinals would go on a 10-0 run in less than five minutes to cut the Hawks lead to 52-51 but back-to-back baskets by
Ayanna Hudson and
Kristen Markoe ,put the Hawks up five with 2:29 to go.,
The Hawks would make their free throws down the stretch to secure the 61-56 victory.
Markoe led the Hawks offense with 17 points while also grabbing eight rebounds. Hudson chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds, while Chan scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Thomopoulos recorded a double double notching 10 points and 10 rebounds.,
The Hawks return to action Saturday in the quarterfinals of the CUNYAC Tournament, t
he Hawks will enter the 2015 CUNYAC Tournament as the #5 seed. They will face off against Lehman College.
