Montclair, NJ - Hunter College soccer fell to Montclair State on Wednesday evening with a score of 2-0 at MSU Soccer Park.
The Hawks (1-3) were able to stay with the undefeated Red Hawks (5-0) for most of the game, maintaining a 0-0 score until late in the second half. Hunter's
William Benitez got off a shot just six minutes into the game, but Montclair State retaliated with four shots of their own over the next five minutes.
Despite the Red Hawks taking eight shots in the first half, Hunter's defense was able to fend off a goal, making the score 0-0 at halftime.

Garrett Babbitt kept the score even with three-straight saves. It would not be until the 72:25 minute-mark that the Red Hawks would score, finding a goal from the lower left end of the box to lead, 1-0. The Red Hawks struck again with 2:05 remaining in the game to get the win over Hunter, 2-0.
The Hawks recorded three shots in the loss, as Benitez tallied all three for Hunter. Montclair State had 21 shots in the 90 minutes, while Hunter's Babbitt recorded four saves.
Hunter returns to action on Saturday, September 12 when they host SUNY Cobleskill at 12 p.m.
