Volleyball Goes 2-0 Over Weekend

New York, NY - Hunter College women's volleyball went 2-0 over the weekend at a CUNY multi-match tournament, defeating City College of New York and York College, both in three sets. The Hawks first took a match against the Beavers in three sets with scores of 25-12, 25-10 and 25-7 before sweeping the Cardinals (25-8, 25-7, 25-14) later on Saturday.

In the match against CCNY, Hunter took the first set in dominating fashion, defeating the Beavers with a score of 25-12. The Hawks would continue to play well, rolling to a 25-10 win in the second set. The Beavers would save their best performance for the third set, going on a 17-1 run to beat the Beavers 25-7 and take their first conference match of the season.

Kerr-Haiduk led the team for the second time that day, tallying nine kills, while Hogan notched 25 assists in the match.

"We had a great performance with a big shout out to Sam on her perfect match against CCNY and just two  errors against York" stated head coach Val Lang. "The team is progressing well and we were able to try a few different things today as well as give the newcomers the opportunity to play."
