Bronx, NY - Hunter College women's tennis recorded its first conference win on Saturday, defeating Lehman College with a final score of 8-1.
The Hawks started singles competition by only dropping one match.
Olivia Funk beat her opponent with a scores of 6-0 and 6-0, while
Paulina Szegda,
Sara Beck and
Catherine Ng each earned wins in just two sets.
Janani Bavanandan also earned a singles win, defeating her Lehman opponent in three.
Hunter College swept doubles competition by earning three victories as partners Funk and Bavanandan took a match 8-1, while Paulina McGlone and Ng also notched a 8-1 win.
Funk remains undefeated in singles competition and doubles play this season.
The Hawks will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 23 for a 1 p.m. match at College of Staten Island.
