Langhorne, Penn. – The Hunter College men's soccer team collected its first win of the 2015 season with a 5-0 victory over the University of Valley Forge on Sunday.
The Hawks began the game with a goal just ten minutes in when
Jacob Gorodetsky netted a penalty kick to give Hunter College the 1-0 lead.
Bryan Suertegaray would lead the Hawks to a wider advantage when he scored a header off a corner kick from
Diego Cisneros at the 35:16 minute mark. Less than two minutes later the Hawks would strike again as Suertegaray scored his second goal of the day to make the score 3-0.
After an accidental own goal by Valley Forge,
Rafael Montoya wrapped up the game for Hunter College by scoring a goal in the last 20 minutes to give the Hawks a 5-0 victory.
The Hawks offense has now averaged 2 goals per game while the defense being anchored by freshman goal keeper
Garrett Babbitt.
The team returns to the pitch on Wednesday, Sept. 9 for a 7 p.m. game at Montclair State.
