Soodoo Scores Two for the Hawks

BOX SCORE New York, NY - Hunter College men's soccer won a 6-2 decision over York College on Saturday afternoon, scoring four goals in the first half to get the victory.

The Hawks (7-5-1, 5-2) fell behind early, but made up for it by scoring six goals, including two from Deklon Soodoo.

Trailing 1-0 to the Cardinals, Hunter's Jesus Patino Muniz scored in the 28th minute to tie the game. Less than three minutes later the Hawks struck again as Alex Zecena found Michael Merlo close to the goal, who headed it into the back of the net.

In the last ten minutes of the first half the Hawks converted on two penalty kicks as Soodoo and Zecena each kicked the ball passed the goalkeeper to go into halftime with a 4-1 lead.

The Purple and Gold returned to the field and scored again just 30 seconds into the half when Soodoo netted a goal from the left side of the field. York responded with a goal of their own to make the score 5-2.

Rafael Montoya finished it off for the Hawks, scoring in the 80th minute to give the Hawks the 6-2 win over York.

The team out shot the Cardinals 29-5 in the win. Hunter goalkeeper Paul Tenfoung tallied three saves in the game, including two saves off penalty kicks.
