BOX SCORE Brooklyn, N.Y. - Hunter College men's soccer fell in a CUNYAC contest on Saturday to Brooklyn College, 4-2.
The Hawks drop to 3-12-1 and 3-5 in conference play this season with the loss.
The Bulldogs got on the board in the first ten minutes of the game as Hunter gave up a goal to trail 1-0 early on. The squad gave up another just nine minutes later as Brooklyn made the score 2-0.
The Purple and Gold did not give up, responding with two shots and then finally converting as
Arman Zamanzadeh scored off a free kick from the left side to make the score 2-1.
Just one minute later, Hunter's
Aristofanis Ioannidis sent the equalizer into the goal with help from
Mikey Tzanetatos, who gathered the assist. The Hawks went into halftime with a tied score of 2-2.
There wasn't much action in the second half until the Bulldogs took control with a goal off a free kick at the 66 minute mark. The Bulldogs did it again with 15 minutes left to play, leading 4-2 despite the Hawk's best efforts.
Harrison Krepack,
Jesus Patino Muniz and
Michael Merlo did their best to catch up, recording last chance shots in the final ten minutes but it was not enough as the Hawks fell, 4-2.
Muniz led the team with six shots, while goalkeeper
Lorenzo Davies recorded eight saves.
The Purple and Gold return to action on October 18 when they face the College of New Rochelle in their last regular season game of the season.
