Brunswick, ME - Hunter College women's basketball improved to 8-2 this season after defeating Hartwick College on Friday evening in the Bowdoin College Coastal Classic, 60-54.
The Purple and Gold led the entire game, shooting 37.5 percent from the field and holding Hartwick to a mark of 31.1 percent.
Three Hawks scored in double-figures as
Jade Aponte recorded a team-high 15 points, followed by
Janine Conway's 12 and
Christine Patterson's 11 points. Aponte added four steals and four assists in the win, while
Ashley Arias led the squad with 11 rebounds.
Hunter forced 30 Hartwick turnovers, producing 25 points off turnovers in the Purple and Gold's fifth win in six games.
The team returns to the court tomorrow when they face Anna Maria College at 2 p.m. at Bowdoin. The Amcats are 1-8 this season.
