New York, NY - Hunter College men's soccer was defeated by Albertus Magnus College in a 3-1 rout on Monday at Randall's Island.
The Hawks drop to 0-5 this season while the Falcons improve to 3-1.
The Purple and Gold had several chances to get on the board in the opening minutes, finding good shots from
Harrison Krepack,
Mikey Tzanetatos,
Jordan Comacho and
Daniel Pesantes. It was the Falcons that struck first though, banging a ball off the goal post into the net in the 41st minute to lead 1-0 at the half.
The Hawks and Falcons exchanged shot attempts in the second half, but it would be 30 minutes before Hunter converted on a shot. At 77:15 Tzanetatos found Krepack from the right side of the field, who knocked the ball into the back of the net to equalize the score.Â
Albertus Magnus responded with a goal of their own just six minutes later and then finished it off with another in the last five minutes of the game to win, 3-1.
The Falcons outshot the Purple and Gold 12-11 as Krepack led the Hawks with three shots on goal in the loss.
Esteban Correa followed with three shots of his own, two which were on goal.
Hunter goalkeeper Noah Doughtery spent all 90 minutes in goal, recording three saves.
The team returns to action on Wednesday, September 13 when they host St. Joseph's - Brooklyn at 3:30 p.m.
