Farmingdale, N.Y. - Hunter College women's tennis took a loss to Farmingdale State University on Wednesday, scoring two points for a final score of 7-2.
The Hawks drop to 0-2 this season after falling in their season opener to Staten Island last week.
The Purple and Gold registered one victory in doubles competition as the team of
Tabitha Doris and
Donise Rose handed their opponents an 8-6 loss at No. 3. The other two doubles teams of
Maria Kogarova/
Ksenia Zevyakina and
Kyanna Bertrand/
Monika Zaboklicki each had close matches, falling by just two points.
In singles play, Zaboklicki earned the Hawk's lone singles win with scores of 1-6 and 4-1 as her Ram opponent retired. Bertrand played a tough match at No. 5, eventually falling to her competitor (6-4, 6-3).
The Hawks will return to action on Monday, September 18 when they travel to Kean University for a 4:30 p.m. match.
