New York, N.Y. - Hunter College women's volleyball continued to sweep conference opponents on Thursday night with the three-set victory over the College of Staten Island, featuring scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-16.
The Hawks improve to 5-1 this season and remain undefeated in CUNYAC play, while CSI drops to 1-5 and 1-2 in conference matches.

Haley Trunkett registered eight digs in the match to earn her 1,000th career dig and take the second spot in the Hunter record books for total digs.
The Hawks dominated the the first set by jumping out to a 12-3 lead. The Dolphins began to find their stride, but Hunter finished them off with kills from
Taylor Haiduk,
Kendra Moore and
Emily Wasson to take the first, 25-14.
The second set was much closer as the Purple and Gold struggled to maintain a solid lead. A 5-0 run for the Hawks help them get the 16-10 advantage and the team recorded the last three points of the game to take it without much trouble, 25-15.
Hunter went on another streak to start the third set as Haiduk, Wasson,
Daphne Odeh and
Cristy Pariama each recorded points to make the score 9-0. The Dolphins went on a run of their own to trail by just three points, but the Hawks stayed in control and took the third, 25-16.
Haiduk led the squad with 12 kills, while
Marlena Budna followed with eight.
Miranda Hogan and Pariama split time as the setter, tallying 10 and 15 assists, respectively, in the win. Trunkett highlighted the Hawks on defense, notching eight digs for a total of 1,003 digs in her short career at Hunter.
The team returns to action on Saturday, September 16 when they host a tri-match against Purchase College and Alfred University.
