Jamaica, N.Y. - Hunter College women's tennis earned its first win of the season on Wednesday evening in the defeat of York College with a score of 9-0.
The Hawks improved to 1-4 this year and got their first conference victory to even out to 1-1.
Hunter swept the competition in doubles play as the No. 1 duo of
Kyanna Bertrand and
Monika Zaboklicki led the way by taking down their opponents, 8-1.
In singles competition, Zaboklicki got a win at the No. 1 court with scores of 6-0 and 6-0. Bertrand,
Donise Rose,
Daniela Yakobashvili,
Tabitha Doris and
Ksenia Zevyakina all followed suit, notching wins against their opponents to give Hunter the match win.
The Hawks return to action on October 4 when they face Lehman College at 3:30 p.m.
