Jamaica, N.Y. - Hunter College women's tennis earned its second conference win on Saturday in the defeat of the College of Staten Island with a score of 8-1.
The Hawks won their fourth match of the season to improve to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the CUNYAC.
Hunter went 3-0 in double competition as
Maria Kogarova and
Luisa Sujan posted a win (8-3) at no. 1. The duo of
Monika Zaboklicki and
Elaine Zhang got an 8-2 victory, while
Anna Baylosis and
Ksenia Zevyakina earned an 8-5 win to give the Hawks the sweep.
In singles play the Purple and Gold won five of the six matches, led by Kogarova's 6-3, 6-1 wins at the no. 1 court.
The team will return to action on October 3 when they travel to William Paterson University for a 4 p.m. match.
