Montclair, N.J. - Hunter College women's volleyball got a win over Montclair State University on Tuesday evening, defeating the Red Hawks in four sets with scores of 25-15, 19-25, 25-22 and 25-23.
Hunter improved to 21-7 this season, while MSU dropped to 16-7 with the loss.
The Hawks got a convincing win in the first set, before struggling a bit to drop the second. The squad bounced back to get wins in the third and fourth sets and record the victory.
Three players tallied double-digit kills, with
Marlena Budna leading the way with 15,
Taylor Haiduk notching 13 and
Kylie Hurst adding 12.
Haley Trunkett paced the defense with 18 digs, while Haiduk and Hurst chipped in 17 and 14, respectively.
Miranda Hogan registered 32 assists as the Hawks hit .193 in the win.
The team will return to action on Friday, October 26 when they host #2 Johnson & Wales University and Kean University.
