Brooklyn, N.Y. - Hunter College men's basketball fell to Medgar Evers College on Friday night in its first conference game of the season with a score of 69-41.
With the loss, the Hawks drop to 2-4 this season and start CUNYAC play 0-1.
The Purple and Gold struggled with shooting, recording a field goal percentage of 26.9 percent in the game, falling behind early in the first half. The Cougars took a double-digit lead in the first ten minutes of the game and never gave it up as the Hawks attempted to close the margin.
Down 24 points going in the second half, Hunter gave up three three-pointers in the first four minutes to fall into a deeper hole, trailing 48-17.
The Hawks were unable to catch up in the remaining minutes to fall 69-41.
Gio Gabbidon led the team with 12 points, while
George Keener followed with 10.
The team returns to action on Tuesday, December 4 when they host York College.
