New York, N.Y. - Hunter College men's volleyball hosted its first CUNYAC tri-match of the season on Monday, getting wins over Brooklyn College and John Jay College.
The Hawks are now 5-4 this season and start conference play with a 2-0 record.
Hunter 3, Brooklyn 0
The Purple and Gold began the day with a three-set sweep of the Bulldogs with scores of 25-18, 25-10 and 25-21.
Blake Hogan led the Hawks with 15 kills and a .632 hitting percentage. He added a team-high eight digs in the victory.
Daniel Dobrogowski chipped in seven kills, while
Benjamin Cassidy and
Qendrim Shala each posted six kills. Cassidy added a team-high five blocks as
Alec Helford registered 27 assists.

Hunter got a win over the Bloodhounds in four sets later in the day, featuring scores of 25-22, 21-25, 25-16 and 25-18.
Cassidy earned 11 kills and just three errors for a .444 hitting percentage in the win, while
Michael Jazgarski added nine kills.
Joseph Muir posted a team-high 13 digs and Helford recorded 36 assists as the Hawks went 2-0 on the day.
The Purple and Gold return to action on February 24 when they travel to Reading, PA for a tri-match.Â
