Purchase, N.Y. - Hunter College softball took down Purchase College on Thursday, sweeping the doubleheader with scores of 4-1 and 6-4.
The Hawks improved to 10-10 this season with the victories and continues to be 4-0 in conference play.
The Purple and Gold started the first game with a score of 1-0 in the first inning before scoring again in the second, fourth and fifth. The Panthers got on the scoreboard in the seventh inning but it was not enough to overtake the Hawks, who won the game 4-1.

Brittney Salvador all recorded hits in the victory, while
Leanna Donahue got the win at pitcher.
Hunter took another early lead in the second game as
Nicole Guzzone singled to left field to allow
Samantha Molloy to make it home. With the Hawks leading Purchase 2-0 at the top of the second, Purchase came back, recording three hits to take 3-2 advantage.
Annalise McClellan posted a double in the fourth to allow Molloy to score before the Hawks recorded three more runs in the sixth. Purchase got a run in the sixth inning, but Hunter pulled out the win 6-4.
The Hawks return to action on Saturday when they take on the College of Staten Island at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
