New York, N.Y. - Hunter College softball snapped a six-game winning streak on Saturday, falling to first-place CUNYAC opponent the College of Staten Island in a doubleheader.
The Hawks are now 10-12 overall and 4-2 in conference play, while the Dolphins improved to 6-0 in the CUNYAC.
Hunter fell behind by two runs early in the first game, but got on the board in the third inning when
Jamie Durso singled to allow Gianna Raimondi to score. The Hawks struck again in the fifth, but the Dolphins closed out the win with two more runs to take it, 6-2.
The second game featured a close score as a big fifth inning with doubles from
Brittney Salvador and Colleen McCoy tied it up 2-2. The Purple and Gold were unable to stop the Dolphins from scoring in the final two innings as CSI won the game, 7-2.
The Hawks return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Drew University.
