New York, N.Y. - Hunter College softball finished up regular season conference play on Thursday with two shut out wins over Baruch College to finish in second place in the CUNYAC standings.
The Hawks will go into the CUNYACÂ tournament next week with a 10-2 record in league games.
Hunter started strong in the first game as
Alana Vezza recorded a two-run homer to spark five runs in the first inning. Vezza followed that up by hitting a triple in the second as the Hawks went on to make the score 9-0.
The team scored two more runs in the fourth to get the win, 12-0.
Nicole Guzzone held the Bearcats to just two hits and no runs to get the win at pitcher.
The Purple and Gold got their second win of the day as
Jamie Durso,
Annalise McClellan and Camryn Roy all recorded RBI's to contribute to a 5-0 victory.
Caroline Bibula earned a win from inside the circle in the game.
The team returns to action for their last regular season game when they travel to the College of New Rochelle on April 28.
