Men's Soccer Drops Game to Farmingdale State

Rams Defeat Hawks, 2-1

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Hunter College men's soccer dropped a close game to Farmingdale State College on Wednesday afternoon, falling with a score of 2-1.

The loss was the Hawks' fourth-straight as they hold an overall record of 1-4 this season.

Hunter's Blaise Enama struck first for the Purple and Gold, recording a goal just 11 minutes into play to put them up 1-0. The Rams responded 20 minutes later, tying the score with a goal from 10 yards out.

Jesus Patino Muniz and Jordan Comacho each had solid shot attempts in the remaining minutes of the first half, but the teams ended up tied at halftime.

FSC's eventual game-winning goal came 19 minutes into the second half to give the Ram's a 2-1 lead. Adam Pine, Michael Merlo and Jean Palacios each registered shots as the minutes of regulation play ticked away, but the Hawks ran out of time, falling to the Rams by one goal.

Enama led the team with three shots, while Comacho and Pine each tallied two in the loss. Noah Dougherty had three saves in goal for the Hawks.

The Purple and Gold will look to bounce back on Saturday, September 15 when they host NYU at 1 p.m. at Randall's Island.
