New York, N.Y. - Hunter College women's volleyball defeated Medgar Evers College on Thursday night in three sets, taking down the Cougars with scores of 25-6, 25-3 an 25-9.
The Hawks improved to 7-0 this season and 3-0 in conference play, while the Cougars dropped to 1-6.
The Purple and Gold recorded a stellar .429 hitting percentage in the win, holding MEC to a negative mark. Eight Hunter players earned kills in the victory, with
Kendra Moore leading the team with nine and just one error for a hitting percentage of .800.
Mariam Ouattara and Kyle Hurst followed with four kills each to lead the Hawks offense.
Justine Smith had a solid performance, tallying 15 assists, a team-high six digs and 11 service aces.
The Purple and Gold will return to the court on Saturday, September 15 when they host Stockton University and Vassar College in a tri-match at the Sportsplex.
