Brooklyn, N.Y. - Hunter College men's soccer got its second win of the season on Wednesday afternoon, shutting out Medgar Evers College with a score of 3-0.
The Hawks improved to 2-6 this season and start CUNYAC play 1-0.
The Purple and Gold got on the board early on, finding a goal from
Blaise Enama at the 28:50 minute mark. Enama and
Jean Palacios each took shots in the minutes remaining in the half but were unsuccessful as the Hawks led at halftime, 1-0.
Hunter had several shot chances to start the second, recording seven before
Harry O'Conor converted on a penalty kick to give the Hawks a 2-0 advantage with 25 minutes left to play.
The Hawks sealed the victory with one last goal as
William Benitez found
Jordan Comacho, who sunk the ball into the back of the net to help Hunter get away with the 3-0 victory.
Enama recorded three shots on goal, while Palacios followed with two. Goalkeeper Noah Doughtery tallied three saves in the win.
The team returns to action on Saturday, September 22 when they face York College at 2:30 p.m.
