New York, N.Y. - Hunter College men's basketball dropped a non-conference game to Centenary University on Monday afternoon, falling behind with a final score of 83-64.
The Hawks are 4-14 this season, while the Cyclones improved to an 8-10 overall record.
Hunter's
George Keener recorded 25 points in the game, while the bench added 17 points, but turnovers proved to be the Hawks' downfall as they posted 20.
The Purple and Gold trailed by just one point at halftime for a close game until Centenary opened the second with a three-pointer. From there the Cyclones went on a 17-1 run where the Hawks did not make a field goal until the 12:28 minute mark.
Keener took control, scoring 14 of Hunter's next 16 points in a five minute span. The points came too late in the game as the Cyclones got the win, 83-64.
Keener finished with 10 field goals for his 25 points and was just one rebound shy of a double-double.
Danny Fusco added 10 points, while
Abraham Rosow registered nine.
Nolan Bruesehoff chipped in nine rebounds for the Hawks.
The team will return to the court on January 25 when they host Brooklyn College.
