Men's Soccer takes down Bloodhounds 1-0

New York, NY - Earlier this afternoon the men's soccer team took on the bloodhounds of John Jay College at Randall's Island. It took just one goal to determine the outcome of the match with the Hawks coming out on top of the 1-0 affair. The win puts Hunter in contention for a top seed in the upcoming CUNYAC playoffs.

The eventual game winner came in the fifth minute by senior Jesus Patino Munoz on an assist from Mikael Young-Malka, besting Bloodhound keeper Sam Hampson. Hunter (5-7-1, 4-1 CUNYAC) had 11 shots, four of them on goal and took five corner kicks. Meanwhile, John Jay  (5-8, 3-3 CUNYAC) registered 11 shots and put four on goal.

Hunter's Noah Dougherty played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded the win, boosting his record to 2-3 after making four saves.

Up next, the Purple and Gold will host Medgar Evers College on Saturday, October 19 at 3pm on Field #10 at Randall's Island. It is the final home game for the Hawks and in conjunction, will be celebrating Senior Day.
