Staten Island, N.Y. - Hunter College women's tennis continued its streak on Tuesday when they defeated the College of Staten Island in a shut out at the CSI Tennis Center, 9-0.
The Hawks are now 6-1 overall this season, while the Dolphins dropped to 0-6.
Hunter started off the match with a sweep of doubles competition as the duo of
Zaara Afida and
Liliko Chung got an 8-1 victory at the #1 court. At #2 doubles,
Monika Zaboklicki and
Anna Baylosis found an 8-4 win, while
Bernice Shi and
Laura Alvim won at #3, 8-0.
The Hawks then went six-for-six in singles play, led by the 6-0, 6-1 victory from Afida at the #1 court. Chung, Zaboklicki, Shi, Baylosis and Alvim each took down their opponents to finish off the Dolphins.
The team team returns to action on October 2 when they travel to York College for a 3:30 p.m. match.
