New York, NY - The women's tennis team closed out the final match of the regular season with a 6-3 win over St. Joseph's - Long Island. After taking two of three in doubles, they put the icing on the cake with four singles win. The victory moves the Hawks to a 10-1 overall record.
The duo of
Malgorzata Kuczera and
Maryna Bohdanovska won at #2 doubles, 8-2 while
Elaine Zhang and
Bernice Shi defeated their opponents at #3 doubles with an identical score of 8-1.
Kuczera continued her winning ways after coming out on top of a 6-1, 6-2 match at #2 singles while
Maryna Bohdanovska blanked her opponent at #3 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Zhang and Shi capped the day with wins at #5 and #6 singles respectively. Zhang won 6-2, 7-5 while Shi came out victorious in a 6-1, 7-4 affair.
The Hawks are the top seed in the CUNYAC Playoffs and earn a buy into the semi-finals. They will play the winner of Lehman/Brooklyn on Tuesday, October 22.
