Flushing, N.Y. - Hunter College women's tennis continued to be undefeated in conference play on Saturday, handing Baruch College their first CUNYAC loss with a close score of 5-4.
The Hawks are now 8-1 overall and 5-0 in the CUNYAC, while the Bearcats dropped to 6-2 and 2-1.
The match lasted four hours on Saturday as the Hawks won two of the three doubles matches.
Malgorzata Kuczera and
Maryna Bohdanovska posted an 8-6 win at the #2 court, while
Elaine Zhang and
Monika Zaboklicki found a win at #3.
Kuczera went on to defeat her opponent at the #2 spot. Needing just two more wins to get the team victory, Bohdanovska came through in a tiebreaker and Zhang clinched the win with a tiebreaker victory at the #6 court.
The team will return to action on Wednesday when they face William Paterson University at 3:30 p.m. at the USTA Naitonal Tennis Center.
