New York, N.Y. - Hunter College men's basketball got a win over CCNY on Monday night, defeating the Beavers with a score of 83-67 at the Hunter Sportsplex.
The Hawks improved to 4-11 in the CUNYAC, while the Beavers are now 6-10.
The Purple and Gold had one of their best shooting performances of the season, recording a field goal percentage of 55.4, while holding the Beavers to a mark of 35.9.
CCNY led by one in the first three minutes of the game, but the Hawks quickly took back the advantage as a three-pointer from
Gio Gabbidon sparked a 17-4 run to go up by 11. Hunter didn't look back from there, never giving up the lead for the rest of the game.
George Keener led the effort with 27 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, shooting 11-15 from the floor. Gabbidon followed with 19 points, while
Melvin Collins chipped in 12 points.
Nolan Bruesehoff rounded out the double-figure scorers for the Hawks, tallying 10 points in the victory.
The team returns to action on Wednesday, February 13 when they travel to John Jay College.
